The disciplinary or interdisciplinary contact group enables a group of researchers to meet together at regular intervals.

The aim is to enable contact and the rapid exchange of information and ideas between Belgian and non-Belgian specialists, belonging to a same scientific domain, or to different domains linked by the use of a same technique or multidisciplinary equipment.

The group is necessarily an interuniversity one and can include researchers and professors from outside the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

The contact groups meet together independently. The meetings are organised without constraints, notably relating to deadlines or the presentation of scientific dossiers.

The F.R.S.-FNRS covers certain expenses incurred by two meetings a year:

  • contribution to the travel costs of researchers of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation,
  • reimbursement of travel costs of one or several foreign personalities who have been invited
  • reimbursement of several administrative expenses for the organisation of the meeting and the secretariat.
