The F.R.S.-FNRS trains graduates who wish to present a doctoral thesis in a university of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

The doctoral training, which is obligatory if you wish to obtain the academic grade of doctor, can be aquired in an  F.R.S.-FNRS Graduate College or a specialised graduate college approved by the F.R.S.-FNRS (Graduate School).

Instruments for doctoral researchers

Research grant of 4 years maximum to enable researchers to obtain a doctoral thesis in any domain of scientific research.

Research grant of 4 years maximum to enable researchers to prepare and present a doctoral thesis in the research domains linked to industry or agriculture.

Research grant of 4 years maximum intended to enable researchers to obtain a doctoral thesis in social sciences.

Part-time mandate for a doctor to simultaneously carry out a PhD and an additional master's/specialisation.

Part-time mandate for a specialist registered doctor to complete a PhD

Grant specially intended for secondary school teachers.

A reseacher can also be recruited as a doctoral researcher and scientific staff member within the context of a research project financed by the F.R.S.-FNRS via the instruments "Incentive grant for scientific research (MIS)", "Ulysse Incentive Grant for Mobility in Scientific Research (MISU)", "Research project (PDR)", "FRESH Research project (PDR-FRESH)", "IISN Research project" or by the Télévie campaign.
